Coolant Service

Coolant service starts with the vehicle's requirements and service history. Leaks, overheating, and repeated top-offs need a cooling-system repair review first.

Tell us the vehicle, mileage, last known coolant service, warning words, how often you add coolant, and whether there has been a leak, steam, or overheating.

When to stop driving

An overheating warning, a gauge in the red, steam, or rapid coolant loss means stop safely and call. Do not keep driving to complete routine service, and do not open a hot cooling system.

Call the shop before driving farther and describe the warning, temperature, steam, or coolant loss.Leave the vehicle parked if it overheated or lost coolant quickly. Request an appointment online for follow-up during business hours.

Choose the right starting point

Coolant service or a cooling-system problem?

Routine maintenance is different from an active leak, overheating, or repeated coolant loss.

Routine coolant service

The vehicle is operating normally and the request is based on its history or manufacturer guidance.

Leak or repeated top-off

The cooling system needs to be checked for the source of the loss before routine service is chosen.

Overheating, steam, or red gauge

Stop driving safely and have the active cooling-system concern reviewed first.

Active cooling symptoms stay with Cooling System Repair. This page owns routine coolant maintenance.

What we check first

We review the exact vehicle and engine requirements, available service history, coolant level and visible condition, signs of leakage, and evidence of earlier overheating.

The correct coolant is chosen for the vehicle and the service needed. For routine maintenance, we drain the old coolant and refill the system with the correct coolant for that vehicle. We do not use a machine to force coolant through the system. If the old coolant is badly contaminated, Luis may recommend repeating the drain-and-refill process.

Possible findings and choices

The result may be service appropriate, not due, an unknown or mixed condition that needs a plan, an external leak or component problem, or an evaluation after overheating.

What routine service cannot fix

Routine coolant service does not repair a leaking radiator, hose, pump, thermostat, fan, or another failed cooling-system part, and it does not repair engine damage. Those findings belong to Cooling System Repair or the appropriate engine repair.
