Car A/C Repair

We check the A/C first. Recharge only: $120 total.

We check your A/C first. If a recharge is all it needs, the standard R-134a recharge is $120 total, including taxes and fees. There is no separate diagnostic charge for that recharge-only visit.

If the A/C needs further diagnosis or repair, we explain the work and its cost before you approve it. Most diagnostic work is $180; if a different charge applies, we tell you before testing begins. The diagnostic charge is credited toward the related repair when we perform it, even if you return another day.

The $120 recharge charge is not credited toward a later repair. If an approved recharge cannot be completed or the system cannot hold pressure, the full $120 recharge charge still applies. We stop and explain what happened before any additional work begins.

Request an A/C check

When your car is not cooling the way it should, we can check the A/C system, explain what is causing the problem, and complete the service or repair your vehicle needs.

We help with warm air, weak airflow, refrigerant leaks, and problems with A/C parts or controls. If our check shows that a recharge is all it needs, our standard R-134a recharge is $120 total. You receive a written estimate before any repair begins.

A/C services we perform

For A/C repair, what the vehicle needs depends on what the system is doing and what the inspection shows. The initial check and recharge price are explained above. Our A/C work may include:

  • A/C performance testing
  • Leak testing and leak repair
  • Compressor and other A/C part repair
  • Fan, blower, and control checks
  • Weak-airflow and cabin-comfort concerns
  • $120 recharge service for standard R-134a systems

When to bring your vehicle in

Have the A/C checked if the air is no longer cold, the cabin takes longer to cool, airflow feels weak, or cooling changes between driving and sitting in traffic. A new smell, noise, or a system that turns on and off unexpectedly also deserves a closer look.

Those symptoms can begin in different parts of the system. We use what you are experiencing as the starting point, then check the areas related to that condition.

Compressor, airflow, and control problems

A cooling problem can involve the compressor, airflow at the front of the vehicle, a fan or blower, the cabin filter, or an electrical control. We check the parts connected to the condition you noticed and recommend only the work supported by the findings.

What to expect at Gonzalez

Tell us what the A/C is doing and when you notice it. For diagnosis or repair, we inspect the areas connected to the concern and explain what we find in plain language. We check the system first; if an R-134a recharge is all it needs, the total is $120. No additional work begins without your approval.

A/C questions, answered

How do you decide whether my car needs A/C repair or a recharge?

We check the A/C first. If a standard R-134a recharge is all it needs, the total is $120, including taxes and fees, with no separate diagnostic charge. If it needs further diagnosis or repair, we explain the cost and wait for your approval before proceeding.

Why is my car A/C blowing warm air?

Warm air can come from a leak, a compressor concern, fan or airflow trouble, controls, or another fault. Testing shows which path fits your vehicle before parts are recommended.

Why is the airflow from my vents weak?

Weak airflow can involve the cabin filter, blower, vents, airflow doors, or another restriction. We check the air path before assuming the cooling system needs service.

Why is my A/C cold while driving but warm in traffic?

Cooling that changes with vehicle speed can involve airflow at the front of the car, fan operation, the A/C system, or compressor performance. Comparing those conditions helps separate the cause.

Which A/C systems do you service?

Standard R-134a systems only.

How much does car A/C repair cost?

It depends on what testing finds. After the initial check, we explain the recommended path and provide a clear written estimate before repair work begins.
